I was out kayaking in Chesapeake Bay recently, and inevitably I tipped. I'm still scared to this day of dark waters because of this flick. Thanks Steven Spielberg. Thanks. |

An American Werewolf in London
This was one of the first times when special effects showed a more progressive metamophosis from man to werewolf. That alone would have been worth the price of admission, but the tongue in cheek humor made the rest of the ride well worthwhile. |

Halloween
John Carpenter occupies a few slots on this horror list, and this is just one of the fine examples of how he can make ya jump in yer seat. Interesting to note, he made up that creepy piano music too. |

The Fog
If it's not fear of water, there's other elements to fear. What makes the fog work is not what it shows, but the fear on peoples faces, searching the emptiness.
It's been a while since I've seen this - I'm sure it was better as a kid, but I'd be willing to try it out again. |

Anytime you see vampire zombies rip the limbs off customers at a bar and play them as instruments in a rock band, you've got a classic on your hands.
Heheh, actually - what made this movie so good was the aboslute shift from kidnapping flick to all out gore fest. |

This is more of a pyschological horror film. It's been out of print for a long time, so it's almost impossible to find in the video store... but Jeff Goldblum is the creepiest devil you've ever seen, without a trident and horns. |
