eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
Never has anything illustrated the pain between memory and moving on better than this movie. I wrote a bit more about it in my journal. |

This is probably one of the most human and powerful things ever captured
on film. Mighty powerful. |

A top ten of all time movie. Really.
If you ever root for the underdog, think about beating the odds or
following your own path - this is a worthwhile slice of time to carve
out. |

the
world according to garp
Another one of those flicks I saw as a child and just couldn't shake.
I went on to read more of John Irvings works, but A Prayer for Owen
Meany - as great of a book that it was - just didn't translate to
the screen as well as this one. |

sordid lives
Aptly tagged as a "Black comedy about white trash" I put this movie here in drama 'cause it moved me so. I've not seen the last 15 minutes due to a scratched DVD, but there were moments that etched into my mind with dialogue so powerful. |

There's something about that scene with the plastic bag that gets
me every time. |

Whatever transpired to make this movie happen, I thank.
I'm not sure if it's a drama, but it's a stumper. Bizarre in all the
good ways that makes movies fun to go to. |

as
good as it gets
I think seeing Jack Nicolson work through his neurosis and compulsions
throughtout this flick are a joy to behold. The whole scene where
he says, "You make me want to be a better person" kinda
sums up how we can learn some nuggets of wisdom from the silver screen. Is this comedy? Is this drama? It’s just like life, sometimes it’s blurry. |

This wasn't an "even" film - and there were some parts
I would've trimmed, but overall the message is important and there
are parts that are very powerful.
One scene in particular, involves some folks dressed up as angels
that I find worth the price of admission for some odd reason. |

Twisted... Dark.. Opposite of uplifting - but important when it comes
to understanding how devasting games can be between lovers. |

I wouldn't mind seeing a few changes to this movie... For instance,
Winona Ryder as a blond just isn't right. Then again, he acting kinda
sucks too.
Otherwise though, a masterpiece from Tim Burton. |

Unsettling and fascinating. There's a raw edge to this that makes
it seem very un-Hollywood that I like. The people seem real. The town
seems real. The situations they encounter - frightening. |

I don't really remember this movie, but I remember enjoying it. Maybe
not drama, but more noir - but something about it was exceptional. |
