In a raised flower bed of the plaza stand two companion pieces purchased by the Federal Reserve from Seeman, an instructor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. They are like lines of a drawing in space, and their forms are reminiscent of armillary spheres, instruments once used by ancient astronomers to display the relationships between celestial bodies. These instruments made of solid rings, all circles of a single sphere, are now most often seen as ornaments in formal garden settings.
