![]() You'll find that this electronic stuff is my preffered way of communication. It's really no different than sending a letter - more efficient really. And for all those who feel it's impersonal, well, i just don't agree.
I just got back from a little trip to Austin to visit
"Why am I writing? I dunno. Something inside me tells me I need to turn off the screen for a moment. I see all these faces going by in my head of all the people I know. I see them smiling, one fading into the other. And I'm thinking about all of the time I spend consuming, working, doing stuff like dishes and laundry -- all of the time I think about bills or careers or what the next thing will be, and it just doesn't add up."
or how bout this tasty morsel: "Here's the scene now...I'm sitting in a comfortable chair. Laundry sits crudely folded in a basket, waiting for the proper storage it will not receive. A Corona empties quickly within reach. I leave for a business trip tomorrow. It is a non-descript moment from intial glance. What makes all the difference though, is that I am writing to you. Damn these time zones that eliminate the luxury of conversation. This is the only way to get through." This of course, was all before you got out of the stone ages. Just because person A is more likely to lick a stamp and walk over to the post office doesn't make their method of communication any better than say, me. (who by the way doesn't mail bills either) Anyways.
Now, when I'm feeling
Yuck. Perhaps you'll have a free day this summer. I've been meaning to head out and see Ray sometime in California, but who knows. Well, that's about all for now. Write me soon, c by the way, heidi says hi. |
