9 Cincinnati Story 1985
George Sugarman (b. 1912)
painted aluminum, water
Chiquita Plaza, East Fifth Street

Cincinnati Story

Sugarman's animated and colorful metal cut-outs spring from a shallow pool of water just as Cincinnati's origin and history were shaped by the waters of the Ohio River. A polished granite bench along the curved edge of the pool welcomes visitors to enjoy the vitality of the sculpture and the activity on the plaza.
